Rumpelstiltskin ‘Tip Toein‘ In My Jordans‘ Meme Might Be The Scariest Trend of Halloween 2026

Tiptoeing in my Jordans Meme

If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok or X lately, there’s a good chance you’ve encountered a creepy little Rumpelstiltskin demon dancing through a barn to a rap song.

The unsettling clip, now known as the “Tip Toein’ In My Jordans” meme, looks like footage rescued from a forgotten ’80s fantasy flick that you might discover on Tubi late into a midnight movie binge. It’s actually AI-generated slop, and the original video tells a much stranger story than the meme lets on.

The clip has become one of the more bizarre viral sensations of Halloween 2026, with users adding funny captions or replacing the dancing character with other people and fictional fan favorites like Fonzie and Michael Myers. But before Rumpelstiltskin started tiptoeing his way across everyone’s socials, the video was created as a showcase for what artificial intelligence can do.

The Original Rumpelstiltskin Video Was Posted in August

AI artist and filmmaker Tatyana Tereshchenko, who posts as Stroinaya, shared the original video via Instagram on August 27, 2026. The post was also shared by the accounts Neuroferma and Anna Glinskaya. Rather than starting life as a meme, the clip was designed to demonstrate how AI could create a convincing cinematic scene with the look of an old fantasy film.

That vintage presentation is a big part of its appeal. The image has a grainy, slightly garish look that recalls old dark-fantasy movies, complete with a straw-filled barn and a strange little man who looks as though he wandered out of a fairy tale. The result is convincing enough that some viewers have wondered whether they’re looking at footage from a real obscure cult movie that actually exists.

They’re not. The video was made with AI, and it isn’t a scene from the 1987 film Rumpelstiltskin, either, which many are mistaking it for.

The full original clip also contains considerably more story than the short dance that became popular online. Rumpelstiltskin enters the barn and shushes a weeping woman before performing his exaggerated, high-kicking tiptoe dance through the straw. He then uses his magic to spin the straw into gold coins.

The ending takes a turn away from the familiar fairy tale. Instead of demanding the woman’s baby, as Rumpelstiltskin does in the traditional story, this demon gets kissed by the woman and transforms into a handsome prince. It’s an odd little AI fantasy that feels like a lost grindhouse scene, right down to its unexpected romantic conclusion.

How Riff Raff Turned Rumpelstiltskin Into a Meme

The video had been online for about a month before it found its way into meme history. In late September, TikTok user @6aimbot9 isolated the dancing portion of the original clip, removed its cinematic audio and paired it with Riff Raff’s 2014 song “Tip Toe Wing in My Jawwdinz.”

The combination proved to be a perfect match. Rumpelstiltskin’s exaggerated movements line up with the song’s rhythm, making his sneaky little dance look even more ominous. The TikTok edit also featured the caption “The type of dreams I be having after taking dollar store melatonin,” which helped establish the strange, dreamlike humor that would become associated with the meme. The post reportedly passed 850,000 views within a week.

From there, the clip spread to X and other social platforms. One X post featuring the dancing Rumpelstiltskin reportedly pulled in 9.8 million views in five days. Other versions began swapping out the original character for familiar faces, turning the dance into a format that could be reused for just about any situation.

The meme works because the character looks as though he’s up to something, even when he’s doing little more than prancing through a barn. People use it to represent sneaking around, getting away with something or having an inexplicable moment of confidence. The caption supplies the joke, while the unsettling little monster in the ugliest shoes imaginaible does the rest.

Riff Raff has also shared versions of the meme, bringing the rapper back into the spotlight through a song released more than a decade ago. The track’s official title, “Tip Toe Wing in My Jawwdinz,” is worth knowing if you’re trying to find the original audio rather than searching only for the meme’s more common name.

The whole thing is a curious collision of AI filmmaking and internet humor. A creator set out to show how convincingly artificial intelligence could imitate an old fantasy movie. Weeks later, a few seconds of that work were detached from their original story and turned into a joke about the kind of nonsense that might appear in a very strange dream. And people are still finding it quite creepy.

Somewhere down this golden brick road of AI slop, Rumpelstiltskin became Halloween 2026’s most unsettling little dance partner.
