‘Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy‘ Trailer Puts Charlie Brown’s Very Bad Dog On Santa’s Naughty List

12 Days of Snoopy Trailer

Even good dogs have naughty days. Apparently Snoopy has some explaining to do before Christmas. Apple TV has released the official trailer for Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy (gosh, that’s a mouthful), an animated holiday special that finds the beloved beagle landing on Santa Claus’s naughty list while the rest of the Peanuts kids are safely behaving themselves.

It’s crazy the things that make me cry after the passing of my own pal, Flex. But I couldn’t help think of him while watching this sneak peek. He was a bitey little jerk, and definitely wound up on Santa’s Naughty List, especially in those younger years. But misbehaving dogs are proof anyone can change.

With only 12 days left until Christmas, Snoopy sets out to clear his name and prove he’s a good dog after all. His efforts lead to a holiday adventure that eventually teaches him there’s more to the season than whatever Santa leaves under the tree. The new special premieres globally on Apple TV on November 13, giving the Peanuts gang another holiday outing just as the Christmas season gets underway.

The trailer also introduces the special’s original music, which comes with a rather impressive collection of collaborators. John Legend wrote and performs a new song called “Get Ready,” produced by Raphael Saadiq. Kamasi Washington and Leon Bridges team up on “Trying To Get There,” while Laufey performs the Christmas standard “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” produced by Spencer Stewart. The full soundtrack for Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy is also scheduled to arrive November 13.

The special’s score is composed by Emmy Award-nominated Jeff Morrow, whose work provides the musical backdrop for Snoopy’s latest holiday predicament. The featured songs give the production a mix of new music and a familiar Christmas favorite, with Legend, Washington, Bridges and Laufey each bringing a different sound to the Peanuts world.

Produced by Peanuts and WildBrain, Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy is executive produced by Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Paige Braddock, Chris Brocco and Mark Evestaff. The animation uses the more modern visual style audiences have seen in The Snoopy Show and Camp Snoopy, rather than returning to the retro look associated with the classic Peanuts television specials.

That gives the new holiday adventure a different look from the older specials that helped make Charlie Brown and the gang a Christmas tradition. Apple TV continues to expand its Peanuts library with new productions while also making room for familiar favorites such as It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Snoopy has less than two weeks to get himself back on Santa’s good side. Whether he manages to pull it off remains to be seen, but at least he has a pretty good soundtrack for the attempt. Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy premieres November 13 on Apple TV.
