K-pop superstar Jisoo is heading into the world of video game-inspired animation with an original song for The Angry Birds Movie 3.
The BLACKPINK singer has co-written a new track called “Sun Showers,” which will appear in the upcoming animated sequel as well as its soon-to-be-released trailer. It’s another musical addition to a movie that already has quite a colorful collection of characters, and Jisoo has a personal connection to one of them.
According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, “Sun Showers” was written specifically for the Paramount Pictures production. Jisoo says she wanted the track to capture the playful atmosphere of the Angry Birds films, giving audiences something upbeat to enjoy alongside the movie’s familiar comedy and colorful cast.

“I’m so happy to be part of The Angry Birds Movie 3. I’ve always loved how the films bring together such colorful characters, humor and heart. With ‘Sun Showers,’ I wanted to capture the movie’s playful and bright energy through a fun, feel-good song that makes people want to smile and dance along.”
There’s also a rather personal touch to the song’s artwork. It features Shumon, a little dustball creature that Jisoo originally drew when she was in middle school, long before becoming an international K-pop star. Seeing that childhood creation become part of an official movie release was something the singer described as “deeply meaningful.” It’s a fun connection between her life before BLACKPINK and the creative work she’s doing today.
Jisoo also expressed her excitement about audiences hearing the song when the film arrives during the holiday season. “I really hope everyone will enjoy hearing it when they see the film over the holidays,” she added.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 23, bringing the birds back for another adventure. This time, the official synopsis promises a particularly difficult challenge for one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters: “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”
John Rice is directing the third installment, with Thurop Van Orman writing the screenplay. Jason Sudeikis returns alongside Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, Danny McBride, and a sizable voice cast that also includes Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Nikki Glaser. MrBeast, Salish Matter, and Psalm West are also among the announced cast members. Lily James and Keke Palmer are joining the production as well.
With Jisoo contributing an original song and a little piece of her childhood making its way into the film’s promotional artwork, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is adding another interesting connection between its animated world and the people bringing it to life. “Sun Showers” will give fans an early taste of the movie when its upcoming trailer arrives, before the birds return to theaters just in time for Christmas.
