‘Godzilla‘ Kaiju Krunch Cereal and Official Milk Chocolate Bar Crash Into FYE For Godzilla Day

Godzilla Cereal FYE

Gojira is taking over the store aisles this Godzilla Day, with FYE introducing two exclusive snacks inspired by the King of the Monsters. The pop-culture retailer has teamed up with TOHO for a Godzilla milk chocolate bar and Kaiju Krunch cereal, both featuring artwork by acclaimed illustrator Mitsuhiro Arita.

The new collectibles arrive just as Godzilla Minus Zero prepares to stomp into theaters, with special IMAX screenings scheduled for Godzilla Day itself.

The FYE x Godzilla Milk Chocolate Bar features Arita’s Godzilla (Noh Variant) illustration, giving the packaging a distinctive look with its gold-and-blue color scheme. The exclusive bar contains three ounces (85 grams) of smooth milk chocolate and is priced at $7.99 through FYE’s online store.

It’s an unusual addition to the growing assortment of Godzilla merchandise, particularly for collectors who appreciate the franchise’s many artistic interpretations of the iconic monster.

FYE also has something for breakfast with Godzilla Kaiju Krunch Cereal. The box features Burning Godzilla, reimagined by Arita in an illustration depicting the fiery kaiju unleashing destruction as cereal pieces fly through milk. There’s even a Godzilla-themed word search on the back of the box, giving fans something to do after pouring themselves a bowl. The cereal is available through FYE.com, with the retailer also rolling it out to its physical stores.

The timing is particularly fitting for the release of Godzilla Minus Zero, the next chapter in the Japanese film series. Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who returns after Godzilla Minus One, the new movie picks up in 1949, two years after the events of its predecessor. Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe are also returning to continue the story of the Shikishima family as Japan faces another devastating encounter with Godzilla.

Godzilla Minus Zero is receiving a special theatrical rollout for this year’s Godzilla Day. The film opens in Japan on November 3, marking the anniversary of the original Godzilla theatrical debut in 1954. North American audiences can catch it early through special IMAX screenings on November 3, with a nationwide theatrical release in standard and premium formats following on November 6 through GKIDS. Tickets are already on sale.

The sequel also marks a major technical milestone for the franchise. Godzilla Minus Zero is the first Japanese production filmed specifically for IMAX, having been shot entirely in Japan with IMAX-certified digital cameras. The presentation has been optimized for the format’s picture and sound, giving audiences another reason to seek out a theater showing.

With FYE bringing Godzilla-themed chocolate and cereal to its online store and physical locations, the King of the Monsters has found a way to invade breakfast just as his latest cinematic rampage begins. At least this time, the destruction comes with milk and chocolate.
