If you thought you could leave Other Mommy behind when you walked out of the theater, think again. Universal Pictures has announced the home entertainment release dates for Rob Savage’s supernatural horror film, with Jessica Chastain’s terrifying new presence arriving on digital platforms next week before making its way onto physical media in December.
Other Mommy will be available to purchase digitally on November 10, 2026. Those who prefer to add a little horror to their movie shelves can pick up the film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD beginning December 29. The digital release also gives audiences an opportunity to watch the movie months before it becomes available through subscription streaming services.
Jessica Chastain stars in the film as a young girl’s mother, whose family life takes a disturbing turn when her daughter, Bela, begins forming a relationship with an entity that looks uncannily like her. Known as Other Mommy, the presence initially seems connected to Bela’s imagination, but it soon becomes clear that something far more sinister is happening inside the family home. The entity becomes manipulative and increasingly dangerous, setting its sights on tearing the family apart.
Savage, the filmmaker behind Host and The Boogeyman, directs this psychological horror story, with Chastain leading a cast that includes Dichen Lachman (Severance), Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Jay Duplass, and Arabella Olivia Clark as Bela.
Universal is also giving physical media buyers some extra material to dig into. Purchases from participating retailers will include exclusive bonus content, featuring four deleted and alternate scenes alongside three behind-the-scenes featurettes.
Deleted and Alternate Scenes
- Alternate Car Confrontation
- Dancing at Grandma’s
- Checking Bela’s Room
- Taking a Bath
Effecting Fear
- An exploration of how the film’s special effects work together to amplify its tension, suspense, and scares.
A Family in Pieces
- A behind-the-scenes look at the fractured family at the center of the story, along with the performances that bring them to life.
Breaking Rules with Other Mommy
- The cast and filmmakers discuss challenging familiar horror conventions through Bela’s perspective and changing the expected rhythm of the genre.
With the digital release arriving November 10, there’s not much time left before Other Mommy starts making house calls again. And if you’re the kind of horror fan who still enjoys collecting physical releases, December 29 offers another chance to bring this particular nightmare home. Just make sure you know who’s waiting on the other side of the bedroom door.
