KPop Demon Hunters (not to be confused with metal band Demon Hunter from Seattle) is getting the Criterion Collection treatment, and fans of Netflix’s animated hit will soon have three different ways to own the movie on physical media.
Criterion has announced that KPop Demon Hunters will arrive on November 3, 2026, with a director-approved 4K Ultra HD edition and a standard Blu-ray release. We’re even getting a DVD edition, here in 2026. The upcoming release marks the film’s arrival in the Criterion Collection as Spine #1333, complete with new artwork. We’ll also get some collectible extras and an extensive selection of bonus features.
The premium edition features a new 4K digital master approved by directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, presented in Dolby Vision HDR with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. The three-disc set includes one 4K UHD disc containing the film and two Blu-rays featuring the movie and its supplemental material.
Criterion is also giving the film a substantial collection of extras, including a new making-of documentary. Not only that, but we’re getting a full-length animatic and video essays exploring the movie’s animation and filmmaking. For fans interested in how KPop Demon Hunters came together, the animatic should be particularly interesting, offering an opportunity to watch the entire movie in an earlier stage of its development.
The release also includes new cover artwork by Ami Thompson, along with collectible postcards featuring illustrations created by artists who worked on the film.

Directed by Kang and Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters follows Rumi, Mira and Zoey, the members of the hugely popular K-pop group HUNTR/X. While performing for fans around the world, the trio secretly protects humanity from supernatural threats. Their latest challenge comes from the Saja Boys, a rival boy band whose members are actually demons attempting to undermine the group’s efforts.
The animated musical became a major success for Netflix following its 2025 debut, with its soundtrack and characters finding an audience well beyond the streaming platform. Its blend of Korean mythology, music and animation helped turn the movie into a pop culture phenomenon.
The Criterion Collection has previously released several Netflix originals on physical media, including Roma, The Irishman and Marriage Story. The addition of KPop Demon Hunters continues that relationship while giving collectors a premium edition of one of Netflix’s most recognizable animated releases.
For fans who have been waiting to add HUNTR/X to their movie shelves, the November release offers more than a standard disc edition. The director-approved presentation and behind-the-scenes material provide a closer look at the animation, music and creative work behind the film.
KPop Demon Hunters arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 3, 2026, with all three editions available to preorder now through the Criterion Collection.
