Freddy Krueger has officially arrived in Fortnite, and Epic Games has released a new trailer showing the Springwood Slasher in action.
The A Nightmare on Elm Street icon joins this year’s Fortnitemares celebration with a Freddy Krueger outfit now available in the Item Shop, complete with his familiar striped sweater, fedora and bladed glove. The new trailer gives players a closer look at Freddy roaming the island and putting those claws to work.
Freddy isn’t limited to a cosmetic appearance. Players can find him at the new Nightmare Neighborhood point of interest, where defeating him rewards Freddy’s Nightmare, an ability that lets players teleport into striking range and slash opponents. Fortnitemares also introduces the Bonerattler SMG and brings back seasonal weapons including the Wood Stake Shotgun and Pumpkin Launcher.
The Freddy Krueger outfit is currently priced at 1,600 V-Bucks. Epic is also selling an A Nightmare on Elm Street bundle for 2,300 V-Bucks that includes the outfit and additional cosmetics.
Other Freddy-themed items in the shop include Freddy’s Glove pickaxe, Freddy’s Coming traversal emote, Freddy’s Back Boiler back bling, Krueger Specials footwear, Freddy’s Flames wrap and Freddy’s Boilermaker pack.
Freddy is one of several horror characters joining Fortnite for Fortnitemares 2026. This year’s event also includes crossovers with Five Nights at Freddy’s, Beetlejuice, The Purge, Obsession, Slender Man, Predator: Badlands and Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, with more characters and accessories rolling out throughout October.
Fortnitemares is live now in Fortnite, with Freddy Krueger available in the Item Shop.
