‘Dune: Part Three‘ Final Trailer Prepares Us for One Last Worm Ride Across Arrakis

Dune Part Three Final Trailer Worm

The spice must flow one more time! Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for Dune: Part Three. Denis Villeneuve is bringing his epic science-fiction saga toward its biggest chapter yet. Paul Atreides is now Emperor, but ruling the known universe hasn’t exactly made his life any easier. With the future looking increasingly terrifying, this final trip to Arrakis promises to be one wild worm ride across the sand dunes.

“Do not fear the end,” reads the film’s latest tagline. That sounds easier said than done when Paul’s visions of the future are becoming harder to trust and his empire appears to be heading toward collapse. The new footage teases a conspiracy against the Emperor. We also see a dangerous turn in Paul’s relationship with Chani. There are also more glimpses of the massive spectacle that has made Villeneuve’s Dune films such a treat to experience on the biggest screen possible.

The story picks up nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Timothée Chalamet returns as the once-reluctant heir who has become a ruthless ruler, now forced to reckon with the consequences of his reign. As rebellion grows and betrayal threatens to destroy everything he has built, Paul finds himself caught in a conspiracy with Chani at the heart of its mystery. His visions of Imperial collapse offer little comfort, particularly as the fate of the people he loves hangs in the balance.

If you thought Paul’s journey was already complicated, the final chapter has some serious company waiting for him. Zendaya returns as Chani, alongside Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem. Robert Pattinson joins the cast as Scytale, a new threat to Paul’s rule who adds another dangerous player to the political game.

Villeneuve returns to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian K. Vaughan, adapting the world created by Frank Herbert. The film draws on Dune Messiah, Herbert’s 1969 follow-up novel. The book explores the darker consequences of Paul’s rise. The story has always been about more than a young hero discovering his destiny. Paul’s transformation into a messianic figure has left an empire in his wake. The final film will confront what happens when power and prophecy become impossible to separate.

That’s a fascinating place to take this trilogy, especially after the enormous battles and desert spectacle of Dune: Part Two. Villeneuve has spent years building this world, and the final trailer suggests he isn’t planning to leave Arrakis quietly. The sandworms are part of the appeal, but the real excitement comes from seeing the personal conflicts and political machinations finally collide.

The production team includes Oscar-winning cinematographer Linus Sandgren, production designer Patrice Vermette, editor Joe Walker, and composer Hans Zimmer, among other returning creative talent. Their work has helped give Villeneuve’s version of Herbert’s universe its distinctive scale and atmosphere. If you’re going to say goodbye to this particular cinematic vision of Arrakis, an IMAX screen seems like a fitting place to do it.

The wait is nearly over. Dune: Part Three opens internationally beginning December 16, before arriving in theaters and IMAX across North America on December 18, 2026. Tickets are on sale now around the world, so fans can start planning their return to the desert.

One final worm ride across Arrakis? Count us in. The spice must flow, and we are absolutely not ready to say goodbye to this saga.
