Tubi is back with another romance gone horribly wrong, and I love it! This time, one married man’s night of passion could cost him everything.
The trailer for One Night Stand introduces a calculated serial killer who turns a hookup into a fight for survival, putting an unfaithful husband and his family directly in her crosshairs.
The thriller premieres free on Tubi October 30, just in time for Halloween weekend.
“When a married man sleeps with a calculated serial killer, he must fight for his family’s survival before she obliterates everything he loves.”
That’s the official setup, and it sounds like somebody is about to discover that the consequences of cheating can be a whole lot worse than an angry text message.
Robyn Rose, Dejuan Ford, Jason Sims, Heather N. Tibbets, Davida Reed, Kamal Smith, Steve White, Marques Buford, Lauren Session, and James Abernathy star in the film. Rockey Black and Kellen Lee direct.
The new trailer arrives right on the heels of Psycho Side Chick, another Tubi thriller built around an affair that spirals into murderous chaos. I recently covered that movie here at Let’s Scream, and I’m still thrilled by the kind of unhinged entertainment Tubi keeps putting on the menu. I called it the streamer’s best original release since Match, and its wild take on the domestic thriller made it one of my favorite movies of the year.
What made Psycho Side Chick so much fun was the way it embraced its outrageous premise instead of trying to make its murderous heroine behave herself. Najah Bradley gave Kelsey a bubbly, dangerously unpredictable energy, turning a familiar cheating-partner setup into a twisted ride that kept finding new ways to surprise me. It was pulpy, quotable, and exactly the sort of movie that makes me excited to see what Tubi comes up with next.
Now One Night Stand looks ready to take another swing at the same deliciously dysfunctional territory. This time, the hook is a serial killer whose encounter with a married man threatens to destroy his entire family. We don’t yet know how far the story will go, but the premise has plenty of room for the kind of outrageous twists that make these thrillers such entertaining late-night viewing.
Tubi has become a destination for viewers who want thrillers that aren’t afraid to get messy. With Psycho Side Chick still fresh in the conversation, One Night Stand looks like a natural follow-up for anyone who enjoys watching terrible romantic decisions turn into absolute mayhem.
You can watch the One Night Stand trailer below and stream the full movie free on Tubi starting October 30. If your Halloween plans involve staying home and watching fictional relationships fall apart in spectacular fashion, this one might be worth adding to the list.
