R.L. Stine is back with another Halloween nightmare, and this time Cassandra Peterson is joining the fun.
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 is now streaming for free on Tubi as part of the platform’s annual Terror on Tubi Halloween celebration. The new horror movie brings another story from the Goosebumps creator to the screen, with Peterson, best known to generations of horror fans as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, among the film’s stars.
The sequel follows last year’s R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead, continuing the Halloween-themed horror series with another supernatural mystery. Like the original, the new movie draws on the kind of spooky storytelling that made Stine a household name, mixing Halloween imagery with a story about what happens when ordinary people encounter something they can’t explain.
Peterson’s involvement is a particularly fun addition for longtime horror fans. Although she’s most closely associated with Elvira, the character she introduced to television audiences in 1981, Peterson has appeared in numerous movies and television projects over the years. Her presence in Pumpkinhead 2 brings another familiar Halloween personality into Stine’s world.
“R.L. Stine and I have been in the business of scaring kids for a long time, so joining PUMPKINHEAD 2 was such a treat. Playing Cassandra was the perfect ‘witchy’ role for me.” —Cassandra Peterson
The new movie arrives as Tubi continues expanding its collection of original horror programming. The free streaming service has made Terror on Tubi a regular part of its October lineup, offering both original productions and a large library of horror movies and television shows without requiring a paid subscription.
A trailer for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 was released ahead of the premiere, giving viewers an early look at the movie and Peterson’s role in the story.
