Penny Proud has managed to ruin Christmas, and now it’s up to her to save it. Disney+ has released the official trailer for A Proud Family Wizmas, a new stop-motion holiday special that brings the characters of The Proud Family into a different style of animation for a Christmas adventure. The musical special premieres Saturday, November 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
The story follows Penny after she inadvertently destroys Christmas as everyone knows it. With the holiday in jeopardy, she reluctantly agrees to set things right, embarking on a journey to save Christmas for the children of Emilyville and the rest of the world.
The new trailer offers a look at the stop-motion characters and the handmade animation style used to bring the Proud family into their latest adventure. Rather than the traditional animation associated with the original series and its Disney+ revival, the special uses physical puppets and stop-motion techniques to give the characters a different appearance for the holidays.
The production brings together The Proud Family creator Bruce W. Smith and Portland-based stop-motion studio HouseSpecial, with Smith directing and serving as executive producer. David Brooks co-directs, while Ralph Farquhar wrote the special and serves as executive producer through BaR Productions.
Music will also play a major role in A Proud Family Wizmas. Composer and songwriter Kurt Farquhar returns to the franchise with six new original songs created for the holiday special.
The voice cast brings back many of the familiar performers from The Proud Family, including Kyla Pratt as Penny, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud and JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama.
Cedric the Entertainer returns as Uncle Bobby, alongside Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Raquel Lee Bolleau as Nubia Gross and Melissa De Sousa as Sunset Boulevardez.
The holiday special also features a substantial lineup of guest stars. Anderson .Paak voices Mall Elf, Lil Rel Howery plays Bubble, and JB Smoove appears as Mall Santa. Karlous Miller joins as Benny, Tone Loc voices Penny Loc, Earthquake plays Big Mack, Luenell appears as Belinda and Affion Crockett voices Billy.
Gabrielle Union also returns to the franchise as Talia Rogue.
Produced by Disney Television Animation, A Proud Family Wizmas continues the adventures of the Proud family with a standalone Christmas story, giving longtime viewers another opportunity to revisit the characters while introducing them to a different animation style.
