An early version of Freddy Fazbear’s animatronic suit from the Five Nights at Freddy’s movies has been revealed ahead of the release of an official behind-the-scenes book covering the making of both films.
The image was shared by FNAF news account JonnyBlox on X, with the preview appearing in Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Art and Making of the Movies. The book is scheduled to arrive in hardcover on November 3, 2026, giving fans a closer look at how the animatronic characters were developed for the big screen.
Written by Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon and Cala Spinner, the book promises more than 100 exclusive images from the two movies. That includes early animatronic designs and prototypes, costume concepts, behind-the-scenes photographs and storyboards.
The book also explores the construction of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria and the design work behind the films’ costumes and in-universe rides. Interviews with production designer Marc Fisichella and Freddy Fazbear stunt performer Kevin Foster offer additional insight into the practical work that brought the franchise’s characters to life.
The early Freddy suit is a glimpse at that process, though the preview alone doesn’t establish exactly how the design differs from the version seen in the finished film. The book’s wider collection of development material should provide a better look at how the movie’s animatronics took shape.
Published by Scholastic, Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Art and Making of the Movies will be released as a 176-page hardcover priced at $39.99. The digital edition is scheduled for November 17, 2026.
For fans who want to see what went into bringing Freddy and the rest of the animatronic crew from the games to the movies, this book offers a behind-the-scenes look at both productions rather than focusing on just one film.
