Kevin The Carrot and His Family Are Back for the ‘Paw-fect Christmas‘ in an All-New Aldi Adventure

Kevin the Carrot Aldi Commercial

Shopping at the Aldi in Alhambra is like entering The Thunderdome. I had no idea this store even had its own cute little carrot mascot. One of the heathens at my old location probably ate him.

But, no! he’s alive and well, and back with his family in an all-new Christmas adventure. So, sighs of relief from everyone. Please. Kevin the Carrot has returned for Aldi’s 2026 holiday commercial, and this time he’s got a missing pet to find before the big day.

Kevin is an anthropomorphic carrot who has been the face of Aldi’s Christmas advertising in the UK and Ireland since November 2016. Created by McCann Manchester, the little vegetable has spent the past decade starring in increasingly elaborate holiday adventures, often borrowing the flavor of familiar movies and Christmas stories.

He’s gone up against an evil parsnip, taken on a Home Alone-inspired adventure, and even found himself at the center of a romantic storyline with Katie the Carrot. Last year’s campaign brought the two vegetables together for their wedding, with their beloved pet Cauli Dog helping deliver the engagement ring.

Now the family has a new problem. Cauli Dog has gone missing, and Kevin’s daughter Chantenay has only one Christmas wish: to bring their cauliflower companion home safely. Kevin and Chantenay set out on a snowy search, putting up LOST posters and following a trail of tiny paw prints into the wilderness. The poster even gives Cauli Dog a little personality, describing him as friendly but nervous around cheese. Fair enough. Some dogs have their triggers.

The search doesn’t go quite as smoothly as the two carrots might have hoped. They encounter a Santa scarecrow who offers some decidedly questionable directions, then get a fright when an animal appears to be a terrifying grizzly bear. Fortunately, the apparent monster turns out to be a harmless, rather adorable squirrel. Kevin also manages to take one of his signature spills in the snow along the way. Apparently, ten years of Christmas adventures haven’t done much for his balance.

The paw prints eventually lead Kevin and Chantenay right back to their own home. The family launches a frantic search inside, checking every possible hiding place until they hear a gentle snoring sound. Their missing friend is found fast asleep inside a Christmas cracker on the dining table. Cauli Dog is safe, the Christmas wish has come true, and the family can get back to celebrating.

Aldi even took the missing-pet gag beyond the television commercial. The LOST poster features a real phone number, 0333 577 5577, set up for viewers to call and hear a message from Kevin. McCann Manchester confirmed the number was part of the campaign, giving the fictional carrot his very own answering machine. That’s a pretty elaborate way to look for a cauliflower dog, but I respect the commitment.

The new commercial is directed by Todd Mueller and Kylie Matulick for animation production company Psyop, with McCann Manchester behind the campaign. It also marks Kevin’s tenth year as Aldi’s Christmas mascot, a remarkable run for a character inspired by an everyday carrot. Aldi has turned him into a full-fledged festive celebrity, complete with a growing family, an expanding cast of vegetable characters, and annual merchandise releases. This year’s Christmas plushies, inspired by the advert’s characters, are scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores on November 12.
