The Simpsons is taking a trip aboard a very familiar-looking spaceship hotel, and it’s bringing in someone who knows a thing or two about Disney’s failed attempt to make guests live out their own Star Wars adventure.
The Season 38 episode “The Kosmic Kruiser” airs Sunday, November 8, on FOX. According to the official episode description, Bart and Lisa break into Krustyland’s “most notorious failed attraction,” only to discover it hasn’t been completely abandoned. The spaceship-themed hotel appears to take aim at Disney’s short-lived Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the expensive immersive experience that closed in 2023.
The episode also features a guest appearance by YouTuber Jenny Nicholson, who confirmed on X that she recorded a role. “I had fun and everybody was really nice to me,” she wrote, adding that the crew let her keep the fish.
That last detail is particularly fitting for a Simpsons guest spot. The show’s iconic three-eyed fish, Blinky, became a symbol of Springfield’s nuclear pollution in the Season 2 episode “Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish.” Bart catches the mutant fish near the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, setting off a story about environmental contamination and Mr. Burns’ campaign for governor. Whether Nicholson’s souvenir is specifically Blinky or another fish from the episode, it’s a wonderfully specific keepsake to walk away with.
Nicholson is known for long-form YouTube essays about fandom, theme parks, and entertainment oddities. Her connection to the episode’s apparent target comes from her 2024 video, The Spectacular Failure of the Star Wars Hotel. Running just over four hours, it documents her own stay at Disney World’s Galactic Starcruiser and examines the experience, its design, and the reasons the ambitious attraction struggled. The video has since passed 17 million views.
Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser opened in March 2022 and closed in September 2023, after a little more than a year and a half of operation. It was designed as an immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure, with costumed characters, interactive storylines, and activities that invited guests to take part in the fictional universe. Its high price and limited run helped make it one of Disney’s most discussed theme park experiments.
Now The Simpsons is getting its own version of the failed attraction, with Nicholson along for the ride. We’ll see what Bart and Lisa find when “The Kosmic Kruiser” airs November 8 on FOX.
