Spirit Halloween isn’t finished taking over vacant storefronts once October ends. Its Christmas counterpart, Spirit Christmas, is returning for a third holiday season with 44 locations planned for 2026.
The seasonal retail concept, launched by Spirit Halloween in 2024, trades costumes and Halloween decorations for Christmas trees, ornaments, holiday collectibles and other seasonal merchandise. This year’s expansion will bring Spirit Christmas to more communities as the company continues building on the popularity of its Halloween stores.
Spirit Christmas follows a similar approach to the Halloween chain, turning temporary retail spaces into holiday shopping destinations filled with themed displays and decorations. Visitors can browse Christmas merchandise while enjoying interactive experiences designed to make the stores feel more like a holiday attraction than a traditional retail location.
The stores feature a wide assortment of decorations, including ornaments, lights, stockings, wrapping supplies, outdoor displays and gifts. Fans of the more unusual holiday decorations that have become popular at Spirit Halloween can also expect festive animatronics and other interactive merchandise designed for Christmas.
Spirit Christmas is also bringing back its in-store holiday experiences, including opportunities for families to meet Santa Claus at participating locations. The concept combines seasonal shopping with activities intended to appeal to families looking for something to do during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
The expansion marks another step for a brand that started with a relatively small number of test stores in 2024. Spirit Christmas has since grown into a recurring seasonal operation, using the same temporary-store model that helped make Spirit Halloween a familiar sight in shopping centers across the country.
For longtime Spirit Halloween customers, the appeal should be familiar.
