Michael Myers is getting a couple of new looks in Halloween: The Game later this month.
IllFonic has announced its first major post-launch content drop for October 27, bringing new Michael Myers skins based on Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and 2018’s Halloween. The update also adds a new map inspired by Halloween 5, two new Civilian characters, a Halloween costume pack and a fresh round of features, fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
The two Michael skins will be sold separately for $9.99 each. The 2018 version is getting some extra attention, with the mask design being supervised by Christopher Nelson, who sculpted the masks used in Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.
The biggest free addition is Tower Farm, a new multiplayer map inspired by the settings of Halloween 5. Instead of the suburban streets of Haddonfield, Tower Farm moves the action into a rural farming community with wide roads, cornfields, barns, sheds, farmhouses and a lit filling station serving as a landmark in the middle of the map.
IllFonic says the more open layout is meant to change the feel of 1v4 matches. Civilians will have fewer houses to duck into, with roadside ditches, overgrown brush, farm equipment and hay bales becoming part of the hiding game. The map also includes a harvest festival, trailer park, pumpkin-filled gardens and new indoor spaces where players can try to break Michael’s line of sight.
“1978 was only the beginning,” IllFonic Chief Creative Officer Jared Gerritzen said. “With the Tower Farm map, we take the terror of that first event in Haddonfield into somewhere wide open, where there’s nowhere to hide except in the dark, where Michael Myers truly comes to life.”
The October 27 drop also introduces Michelle and Eugene, two new Civilian characters sold together for $9.99. A separate $9.99 Civilian Costumes Pack includes 14 Halloween outfits, one for each character, along with 42 color tints. Tower Farm and the accompanying gameplay fixes will be free for everyone who owns the game.
