It’s starting to look pretty real. Blumhouse has unveiled the first title treatment for Anything But Ghosts, the upcoming horror-comedy from Obsession director Curry Barker. The studio shared the new logo following its BlumFest presentation at New York Comic Con 2026, giving fans their first official look at the branding for Barker’s next feature.
Anything But Ghosts is scheduled to haunt theaters on May 7, 2027, with Focus Features handling the U.S. release. The project reunites Curry Barker with his longtime creative partner Cooper Tomlinson, who co-wrote the screenplay and stars alongside the filmmaker.
The movie follows a pair of wannabe ghost hunters who have built a business out of convincing people that their homes are haunted. They’re con artists who know how to manufacture paranormal activity, but their operation takes a dangerous turn when they encounter an actual supernatural threat.
Barker has described the movie as a significant shift toward comedy compared with Obsession, his breakout supernatural horror film. The new project still takes place in a grounded world, but its central premise gives Barker and Tomlinson plenty of room to play with the absurdity of fake paranormal investigators getting in over their heads.
The film also stars Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard, Violet McGraw and Chris Reinacher. Jason Blum produces for Blumhouse, alongside Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer.
Although Anything But Ghosts moves into horror-comedy territory, fans of Obsession may want to keep an eye out for connections between the two films. Barker has previously indicated that they share a universe, with a reference to the events of Obsession appearing in the new movie.
For now, the title treatment is the latest official glimpse of a project that has been developing behind the scenes while Barker’s profile continues to grow. After Obsession made a major impact in theaters, his next feature gives him a chance to explore a very different kind of supernatural nightmare.
Anything But Ghosts opens in theaters May 7, 2027.
