3D Printable ‘Wicker‘ Popcorn Bucket Lets You Take Your Wicker Husband To Regal Theaters

Wicker Popcorn Bucket

Movie theater popcorn buckets have gotten pretty wild, but Regal has a new idea for Wicker fans who own a 3D printer. Instead of selling a collectible container shaped like Alexander Skarsgård’s woven husband from the upcoming horror-fantasy movie, the theater chain is letting fans download the design and print their own at home. Better yet, bringing the homemade bucket to a participating Regal theater during opening weekend can earn you a free small popcorn.

Regal announced the promotion on October 8 through its social media channels and the official Wicker popcorn bucket promotion page. The design comes from Regal Prop Shop, which created the printable container using 3D scans of the costume featured in the film.

The resulting bucket is essentially a headless, woven male torso, complete with the sculpted details of Skarsgård’s unusual character. Popcorn goes in through the top, where the neck and shoulders would normally be. The design even features a sculpted spine on the back, along with Regal and Wicker branding.

It’s certainly a different approach to movie merchandise. Rather than charging fans for a limited-edition collectible, Regal is providing the files for free and encouraging moviegoers to make the container themselves. Of course, you’ll need access to a 3D printer and the materials to produce it, so this isn’t exactly a freebie for everyone.

Those who do print their own can bring the bucket to a participating Regal theater during Wicker‘s opening weekend, October 23 through 25, to receive a free small popcorn. Check the official promotion page for the applicable terms and participating locations before making the trip.

Regal is also running a separate sweepstakes through its social media promotion. The giveaway began October 8 and runs through October 25, giving fans another opportunity to get in on the Wicker fun. The sweepstakes has its own entry requirements, so be sure to read the official rules.

Directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, Wicker stars Olivia Colman as a fisherwoman who orders herself a husband made of wicker, played by Skarsgård. Peter Dinklage, Elizabeth Debicki and Richard E. Grant also star in the film, which puts a decidedly strange spin on the idea of finding the perfect partner.

Wicker opens in limited U.S. theaters on October 23, with a nationwide expansion scheduled for October 30. Until then, fans with the right equipment can get a head start on building their own Wicker Husband, with a little movie theater popcorn waiting as a reward.
