Candy corn on pizza. Tombstone has decided to go there for Halloween, and it’ll only cost you $1.31 to find out whether this is a terrible idea.
The frozen pizza brand has created a limited-edition Candy Corn Pizza kit for spooky season, combining a Tombstone pizza with enough candy corn to cover as much, or as little, of the pie as you’re willing to risk. Even better, the $1.31 price includes overnight shipping.
Tombstone isn’t pretending this is something anyone was clamoring for. The company is calling its latest creation “The Pizza Nobody Asked For,” which seems like a reasonably accurate assessment of the situation.
The kit comes with your choice of a Tombstone Pepperoni Pizza or Tombstone 5 Cheese Pizza, a supply of candy corn and instructions for assembling the whole thing at home. There isn’t a special candy corn sauce or some newly developed sweet pizza recipe hiding inside the box. This really is Tombstone pizza topped with candy corn.
How much candy corn goes onto it is entirely up to you. Tombstone suggests adding a few pieces if you’re hesitant or covering the entire pizza if you’ve decided there are no consequences for your actions.
“Candy corn. On pizza. Hear us out… it’s weirdly good,” Tombstone says on the official site.
The combination puts one of Halloween’s most divisive candies on top of one of the least divisive foods imaginable, so there’s a pretty good chance the $1.31 experiment will start an argument before anyone actually takes a bite. Tombstone is leaning into that reaction, pitching the pizza as something to break out at Halloween parties and asking customers to decide whether it’s a trick, treat or terrible idea.
There is one catch for anyone curious enough to order one. Tombstone is only producing a limited quantity of the Candy Corn Pizza kits, with purchases restricted to one per order and household. Shipping is also limited to the contiguous United States.
The pizzas aren’t available to order quite yet. Tombstone’s Candy Corn Pizza site currently lists them as “Coming Soon” and is accepting sign-ups for customers who want to know when they become available.
At $1.31 with overnight shipping included, at least finding out what hot candy corn tastes like on a pepperoni pizza won’t be an expensive mistake.
