‘Percy Jackson’ Takes Over the Empire State Building With Mount Olympus Experience

Percy Jackson Empire State Building

The gods of Olympus are moving into the Empire State Building, and Disney+ is inviting Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans to pay them a visit.

To celebrate the November 20 premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3, Disney+ has announced Olympus Awaits, an immersive experience transforming the Empire State Building’s 80th floor into the mythical home of the Greek gods. The limited-time attraction runs November 16 through December 4, giving visitors a chance to explore Mount Olympus high above New York City.

The experience is included with regular Empire State Building Observation Deck admission, although fans should plan their visits carefully. Olympus Awaits will be closed November 17 and 18, despite the overall event running through early December.

Visitors will be invited to ascend to the mythical “600th Floor,” where they’ll enter a recreation of the gods’ Throne Room, complete with towering thrones inspired by Greek mythology. The experience also includes hidden references to the Disney+ series, interactive elements and photo opportunities throughout the attraction.

Disney says this marks the first time the Empire State Building’s 80th floor has hosted an immersive entertainment takeover of this scale.

Some visitors may also receive surprise keepsakes inspired by the series, including a key to Olympus and other themed collectibles. These items will be distributed to select guests, so they’re not guaranteed with admission.

The celebration extends beyond the 80th floor. A Hand of Talos installation will be located in the building’s ground-floor ticketing office, offering a free photo opportunity for fans who don’t purchase Observation Deck admission.

On November 20, the Empire State Building is also scheduled to illuminate its exterior with The Glow from Olympus, a special lighting display inspired by the mythical home of the gods. Disney notes that the date is subject to change.

Visitors heading up to the 86th Floor Observation Deck will find exclusive Percy Jackson and the Olympians merchandise available for a limited time. An Eataly pop-up on the same floor will also offer a special Percy-inspired blue treat.

But fans outside New York won’t be left out of the celebration.

Disney+ is launching Offerings from Olympus, a nationwide collection of limited-time food promotions featuring blue-colored treats, themed desserts and special discounts from more than a dozen participating businesses.

The collaborations begin November 16, with most running through November 20. Several locations will offer their promotions for a few additional days.

The blue food theme is a familiar part of the Percy Jackson universe, and Disney is extending that connection into restaurants and bakeries across the country as the new season approaches.

Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series. The story follows Percy as he attempts to rescue Annabeth after she’s captured by the forces of Kronos. With Grover accompanying him, Percy must free a goddess, confront a dangerous prophecy and prevent the fall of Olympus.

Walker Scobell returns as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava’ Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart and Levi Chrisopulos.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 premieres Friday, November 20, on Disney+ and Hulu. The first two seasons are currently available on both streaming services.

The Olympus Awaits experience runs November 16 through December 4 at the Empire State Building, excluding November 17 and 18. Observation Deck tickets are required for the 80th-floor experience, while the ground-floor Hand of Talos photo opportunity is free.
