Godzilla is already bringing the destruction to the big screen in Godzilla Minus Zero, but apparently the King of the Monsters isn’t stopping there. A massive new popcorn bucket shaped like the legendary kaiju has been revealed in Brazil, and it may be large enough to claim the title of the world’s biggest popcorn bucket ever unleashed inside a theater.
The enormous collectible was unveiled by Brazilian distributor SATO Company during EXPOCINE in São Paulo. Unlike most movie theater popcorn buckets that stick to a character’s head or bust, this one is essentially a full-body Godzilla figure. The monster stands upright with his mouth open, jagged dorsal plates running down his back and a gigantic tail stretching behind him. The popcorn compartment opens from the back.
And yes, it is really, really big.
The exact dimensions haven’t been revealed yet, so there is no official world record to announce. However, the Godzilla Minus Zero bucket certainly looks capable of challenging the current record holder.
The popcorn bucket was manufactured by Golden Link, the same company responsible for the enormous Galactus popcorn container created for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. That container measured approximately 20 inches wide and 17.5 inches tall and earned a Guinness World Record in 2025 as the largest commercially available popcorn container.
If this Godzilla is larger and meets Guinness’ requirements, Golden Link could end up breaking its own record with another movie monster.
For now, the monster-sized bucket appears to be a Brazilian theatrical promotion. SATO Company has described it as a special collectible for the country’s release of Godzilla Minus Zero, with units being imported for exhibitors to use in promoting the movie. The company has also described the promotion as the biggest popcorn bucket developed for events.
That doesn’t necessarily mean moviegoers will be able to walk into a Brazilian theater and buy one, however. A price, final dimensions and details about whether the bucket will actually be sold to audiences have not been announced. There is also no indication that this particular version will be coming to theaters in the United States.
That’s a shame because, judging from the first look, this isn’t really a popcorn bucket so much as a Godzilla statue that happens to have room for popcorn.
SATO is planning a major theatrical push for Godzilla Minus Zero in Brazil, with the distributor targeting between 700 and 1,000 screens. The film opens there November 5, one day before its North American theatrical release through GKIDS.
Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus Zero follows the events of Godzilla Minus One as Japan struggles to recover from the devastation of war and Godzilla. The official North American release is set for November 6.
As for the popcorn bucket, we’ll have to wait for those measurements before declaring Godzilla the new king of the concession stand. But considering the size of the creature himself, it would be a little disappointing if his popcorn bucket wasn’t enormous.
