Ti West’s ‘Remnants’ Trailer Reveals Immersive Horror Movie for Apple Vision Pro

Remnants Reaction Trailer

Apple wants you to see what happens when real people step inside a Ti West horror movie via it’s VR headset, the Apple Vision Pro. The new Remnants reaction trailer is here to show us what that looks like. The footage captures unsuspecting audience experiencing Apple’s first immersive horror film, with their true jumps of terror offering a taste of the absolute horror waiting inside Woldmere Castle.

Ti West, the filmmaker behind X, Pearl and MaXXXine, is bringing his latest ghost story to Apple Vision Pro on October 16. Instead of watching the horror unfold on a regular screen, viewers will be placed inside the unsettling world of Remnants through Apple Immersive Video, a format designed to surround the audience with 180-degree visuals and Spatial Audio.

Apple’s new teaser pairs glimpses of the castle’s creepy atmosphere with footage of people experiencing the film for themselves. It’s a clever way to sell a horror experience that’s difficult to demonstrate through an ordinary trailer. We can watch a character walk into a dark room on a television, but seeing someone react to a scare while feeling immersed in that world is a different kind of preview.

The 27-minute film stars Lucy Boynton and Ralph Ineson, with the story centered on the dark secrets haunting Woldmere Castle. Apple is keeping the plot details under wraps, so there’s still plenty left to discover when the full experience arrives.

Of course, there is one rather expensive catch for anyone hoping to check it out. Remnants is arriving exclusively on Apple Vision Pro through the Apple TV app, meaning you’ll need the headset to experience West’s ghost story as intended.

The reaction teaser gives horror fans a little taste of what’s coming, but the real question is whether Remnants can make us feel as uneasy as the people in the footage look. We’ll find out when the castle doors open on October 16.
