‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘ Returns to IMAX Theaters on October 30

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Rerelease

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood is returning to the big screen, with the 2019 film set to play exclusively in IMAX theaters starting October 30.

IMAX announced the limited theatrical run in two posts on X, inviting audiences back to 1969 Los Angeles for Tarantino’s story about a fading television star and the stuntman who has stood by him through every mishap. Tickets are already available for select screenings, including at AMC and independent theaters.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Rick Dalton, an actor struggling to find his place in a changing Hollywood, while Brad Pitt plays his longtime stunt double and friend, Cliff Booth. Margot Robbie portrays actress Sharon Tate in the film, which also features Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, Margaret Qualley, Dakota Fanning and Timothy Olyphant.

The IMAX return arrives ahead of Pitt’s next appearance as Booth in The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a follow-up directed by David Fincher and written by Tarantino. That film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 25, giving audiences a chance to revisit Booth’s original story before seeing where the character goes next.

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood was a major success for Tarantino, earning more than $378 million worldwide and receiving 10 Academy Award nominations. Pitt won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Booth.

The new IMAX engagement begins October 30, though screenings are limited to participating theaters. Moviegoers can check local listings for showtimes and ticket availability.
