‘GTA 6’ Launch Trailer Surprises Us With a New Vice City Song From Electronic Duo Justice

GTA 6 Launch Trailer

Rockstar Games has dropped a new launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, giving players another look at Jason and Lucia’s crime-fueled adventure just over a month before the highly anticipated game arrives on November 19.

Released without advance warning on October 15, the roughly 90-second trailer returns to the sun-soaked streets of Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida. There’s plenty of cinematic action, dangerous driving, and criminal chaos, but the story still comes back to the partnership between Jason and Lucia, two people who may have to depend on each other if they want to survive what comes next. I particularly liked seeing the ankle monitor in the shower. It shows us exactly what kind of greasy trip we’re in for.

Rockstar’s official description sets up the trouble ahead: “when an easy score goes wrong,” the pair become caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida. The new footage offers another taste of the game’s world and its central relationship, although anyone hoping for a major story revelation may have to keep waiting.

The trailer also arrives with a musical treat. Electronic duo Justice, who composed the game’s original score, provide new music for the footage with “Flower in a Hurricane,” a track featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The song is included on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack, which is available to pre-save on major music streaming services and pre-order on vinyl and CD.

The trailer was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, according to Rockstar. That makes this another showcase of the game as it currently appears on Sony’s console, rather than a separate cinematic made outside the game.

After years of waiting, the countdown is getting real. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until then, Rockstar has given fans one more trip to Vice City, complete with a soundtrack that sounds ready to cause a little trouble of its own.
