Getting your head stuck in a toilet is a pretty terrible way to spend the night. Getting your head stuck in a toilet while drug dealers are hunting you down is considerably worse. That’s the nightmare at the center of Flush, a French horror comedy that has just unleashed its official trailer ahead of its U.S. digital release on October 9.
Directed by Grégory Morin and written by David Neiss, Flush follows Luke (R. Jonathan Lambert), a middle-aged cocaine addict who heads to a shady nightclub hoping to win back his girlfriend. His romantic plans take a disastrous turn when he gets caught up in a drug deal gone wrong. Left for dead with his head jammed into the hole of a squat toilet, Luke has to figure out how to survive the night while dangerous dealers close in.
As the trailer makes clear, the bathroom is only the beginning of his problems. Luke faces a series of increasingly grotesque situations, with a junkie rat adding another layer of misery to an already spectacularly bad evening. The film takes a cramped, humiliating predicament and pushes it into the territory of full-blown horror-comedy madness.
The premise might bring to mind the infamous toilet sequence in Trainspotting, but Morin has built an entire feature around the kind of situation most filmmakers would use for one particularly unpleasant scene. The result looks designed for viewers who like their comedy decidedly dark and their horror willing to get its hands dirty.
Lambert stars alongside Élodie Navarre, Elliot Jenicot, and Rémy Adriaens. Flush made its festival rounds after premiering at the Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025, where it went on to win Best International Feature. Morin, whose previous work includes genre shorts, makes his feature directorial debut with the film.
Dark Sky Films is releasing Flush on digital platforms in the United States today, October 9. Watch the official trailer below, but maybe keep your dinner plans flexible.
