The Bill & Ted franchise follows the most excellent adventures of two well-meaning but thoroughly dim-witted best friends, Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan, whose dreams of becoming rock legends somehow lead them on journeys through time and across history. Beginning with the 1989 comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the series continued with Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991) and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020), taking the pair from their high school history report to the afterlife and, eventually, the future of their music and family lives. The franchise also expanded into animated and live-action television, with Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures bringing their time-traveling misadventures to Saturday morning cartoons and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures later adapting the characters for a live-action series.
