Pop Secret is getting ready for the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday, and Marvel fans picking up popcorn for movie night could also score a discount on tickets to the upcoming film.
The popcorn brand has announced a new collaboration with Marvel Studios featuring limited-edition Avengers: Doomsday packaging, an $8 Fandango movie ticket reward and a nationwide sweepstakes offering a trip to New York City. The promotion is underway ahead of the movie’s December 18 theatrical release.
The collectible packaging features characters and artwork from Avengers: Doomsday, with specially marked boxes and bags arriving at major retailers nationwide. Participating varieties include Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter and Homestyle Butter microwave popcorn, along with ready-to-eat Movie Theater Butter and Double Cheddar.
The packaging will be available at Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, Albertsons/Safeway, Sam’s Club and other stores that carry Pop Secret products.
There’s also a movie ticket promotion attached to the popcorn. Customers who purchase three qualifying Pop Secret products in a single transaction can receive an $8 Fandango Promo Code toward one ticket to see Avengers: Doomsday. To claim the reward, shoppers need to upload their receipt through the official promotional website, which can also be accessed by scanning the QR code on participating packages.
The $8 reward is a discount toward a movie ticket rather than a free admission, and the offer is available for a limited time while supplies last. Additional restrictions apply, so customers should check the official terms before making a qualifying purchase.
Pop Secret is also giving fans a chance to win a three-night trip to New York City for two. The grand prize includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and several activities that sound like they were selected with Marvel fans in mind.
The itinerary includes a sightseeing tour, visits to an aircraft and space museum and a spy museum, an escape-room challenge, a skyscraper observation experience and a special dinner. The prize package also includes a supply of Pop Secret popcorn.
The collaboration arrives as Marvel Studios prepares to bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time as Doctor Doom. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday brings together characters from multiple corners of the Marvel universe, including members of the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men.
The film’s ensemble includes Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, among many others.
The limited-edition Pop Secret packaging is arriving at participating retailers nationwide, with the Fandango reward and New York City sweepstakes available through the official promotion.
